On another point, much has been made of the word "modest" in regard to the charge and the promise the Minister has made. I am a little puzzled in regard to amendment No. 5, which states "This section shall not apply to those who own a residential property, and whose annual income is less than €75,000". Is Senator Ó Clochartaigh suggesting €75,000 is a modest income? He has already said his own party leader is on half of that, namely, the average industrial wage. We might achieve something today but, at the moment, these amendments are being put forward in a totally contradictory way.
