-----that it is all very well for the Tánaiste to go on television, feign righteous indignation, beat his chest and say "My God, isn't this awful?", but what is he going to do about it? I am putting the House on notice that we will have a Bill next week which will give the Financial Regulator the powers to ensure that our financial institutions pass on rate cuts. Government representatives being disappointed and angry means nothing to mortgage holders who are being screwed by these banks at the moment. Our people are under ferocious pressure and we all know that. I am proposing once again an amendment to the Order of Business that the Minister or Minister of State at the Department of Finance come to the House and tell us what the Government is going to do. I am rather worried when I hear that the Taoiseach rang Mr. Elderfield, the Financial Regulator, to ask him what he thought about it and what he needed. I will tell the Taoiseach what we need. We need the Government to do something about this.
