National Recovery Plan 2011-2014: Motion

Since 2009 this Government's policies and investments have enabled IDA Ireland companies to create 4,500 new jobs and increase exports to €110 billion. We have seen a drop in the unemployment figure in recent months which suggests a stabilisation of the situation. The Government's policies and investments will enable Enterprise Ireland companies to create 7,000 new jobs and win new export sales worth approximately €750 million. Internationally, foreign direct investment was down 30% but in Ireland it fell by only 4%. Internationally, exports fell by more than 20% but in Ireland they fell by less than 3% and service exports actually grew by 2%.
