Senators may be aware of newspaper reports today of the possible death by stoning of a lady called Mrs. Ashtiani in the Islamic Republic of Iran. I ask the Leader to convey to the Minister for Foreign Affairs the deep horror of this House, which I am sure would be agreed on, at this proposed execution. The Minister, acting in the name of Ireland, should add his voice and Ireland's voice to that of the international protests that have already started.
