On the substance of the recommendation, it largely speaks for itself. Senators will be aware of the background to the introduction of this change in the finance Bill in the charging of VAT by local authorities. It is not unreasonable for us to look for some information, not only for Members of the Oireachtas but also for the public, on the amount of VAT likely to be charged by local and public authorities under this section and also the amounts they are likely to recover in respect of the relevant inputs. I wonder what is the response of the Minister to this proposal.
