It is amazing that under legislation put through the House by the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Deputy Eamon Ryan, three radio stations across Ireland could end up being closed. The levy has already cost people their jobs and works against small local radio stations. The cost of running the BCI is equivalent to the turnover of three local radio stations. I am flabbergasted to think the Minister has no responsibility to the House for the levy.
