Maria Corrigan (Fianna Fail)
Following from the comments of Senator Healy Eames, I am conscious this House has spoken in regard to the Ryan report and the Murphy report. However, the suggestion she makes with regard to a specific debate on the implementation report is very useful. In that context and given that this is the month when the new Children First guidelines are scheduled to be produced by the Minister, perhaps when we return in the new year the Leader could arrange for the Minster of State to come before the House with a very specific remit around the new Children First guidelines and the implementation report that his Department has prepared.
It might also be useful for the Leader to organise additional time for this House to debate the newly agreed proposed wording from the Joint Committee on the Constitutional Amendment on Children.
