I extend my deepest sympathy to Noreen, Jason, Jennifer and Joanne and to all of Tony's family, friends and colleagues. I would like to be associated with the warm and wonderful tributes paid by colleagues this morning which are a testament to the exceptional man that was Tony. I pay particular tribute to Tony's role as Government Seanad spokesperson on disability and mental health. Tony was a gentleman and a man of compassion, with a deep sense of justice and fair play. These were traits he brought to his role as spokesperson, advocating strongly for a section of our society who can frequently be left behind but whose lives have undoubtedly benefited from the contribution made by Senator Tony Kett. He made a real difference. May he rest in peace.
