The marginalised benefit from community child care provision. I am speaking about the fall-out from the private providers. The aim of this, I understand, is to reduce the cost of child care. However, the focus should be on reducing the cost in a controlled manner that avoids massive reductions in the availability of child care places or an unacceptable reduction in the living standards of those who work in the industry. Will the Minister of State allow for providers that qualify for the scheme based on reasonable limits to top up the fees so that they can remain viable because he will need them to provide the amount of places?
