I have received notice from Senator Dominic Hannigan that, on the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to make a statement on the need for a new post-primary school in the Johnstown area of Navan.

I have also received notice from Senator Ciaran Cannon of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism to confirm that the construction of a new public swimming pool in Loughrea, County Galway, can begin immediately and that a funding commitment of €1.7 million made in 2007 is honoured so that such construction is possible.

I have also received notice from Senator David Norris of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to raise with the Spanish authorities the case of the Kurdish politician and diplomat (details supplied) who is a former elected member of parliament and a peace campaigner.

I have also received notice from Senator Cecilia Keaveney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism to outline the strategy proposed, if any, in conjunction with the Department of Education and Science to deliver on the sub-committee's report on the Arts Act that focused on music and education.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and those raised by Senators Hannigan, Cannon and Norris will be taken at the conclusion of business.

Senator Keaveney may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
