I have notice from Senator John Paul Phelan that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to clarify if he is prepared to reverse his decision to cut the ancillary grant for Protestant education; and to make a statement on the matter.

I have also received notice from Senator Liam Twomey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to seek reassurance from the HSE that the accident and emergency department at Wexford General Hospital will continue to operate on a 24/7 basis, and if there are any plans to change these hours in the future.

I have also received notice from Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to clarify the position of farmers finishing REPS 3 after 13 May 2009; and if he would consider providing an extension of one month to the REPS 4 closing date.

I have also received notice from Senator Frances Fitzgerald of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to outline the details of the way in which the new scheme to provide a child care place for three year old children will function, payment methods, the number of available places and the level of uptake in the scheme which she expects from child care providers.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators Phelan, Twomey and Ó Domhnaill as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator Fitzgerald may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise.
