As I said yesterday, if they could get the banks to apologise publicly for what happened, as their British counterparts have done, that would help. Many Senators have spoken of the need for trust and confidence. We will have neither without first clearing the decks. We cannot move forward until that is done. Perhaps the Leader will respond to my question in regard to restructuring of the six institutions covered by the guarantee scheme and in regard to how we can move forward.

I agree with Senator Cummins's remarks in regard to the pension levy.
