Charities Bill 2007: Report and Final Stages
12:00 pm
Jerry Buttimer (Fine Gael)
We are not opposing amendment No. 10. Senator Boyle in his earlier remarks on human rights referred to forces being at work outside the control of certain sections. In the context of this section, which is of benefit to the public, I ask the Minister what the Senator means in terms of what forces are at work. Is there manipulation of Government at work? Is Fianna Fáil refusing to accept the involvement of other parties in government in the drawing up of this Bill? Is the Progressive Democrats' dog wagging the Government tail or are there other agencies trying to influence and infiltrate proceedings?
