Criminal Assets Bureau Annual Report 2007: Statements
4:00 pm
Paul Coghlan (Fine Gael)
I, too, am grateful to the Minister for his comprehensive response to everything that was raised. Will he confirm that he will continue with the policy of not tying the hands of CAB or the gardaĆ in tackling the drug overlords and gangland crime and that he will be continually responsive to the ongoing need for resources in this area?
I would like the Minister to comment on the direction of operations from within prisons, as we have read much on this. Presumably it is something that is being dealt with and that we want to root out. I accept what he says on our constitutional constraints regarding a fair trial.
