Only 12 months ago, the Minister for Health and Children, Deputy Harney gave commitments to Deputy Finneran that this would not happen and she should come into the House and explain the situation. Professor Drumm and the HSE are issuing these diktats. Professor Drumm would not come to Roscommon to meet the staff last week but instead went to Galway to meet staff there. As a former Minister of State at the Department of Health 21 years ago, I was in the position to stand alone and save Roscommon hospital from being turned into a district hospital.
