I thank the Minister of State for his reply. I neither accept nor reject his analysis of the reasons for the rise in the price of diesel as against that of other fuels. I just do not know whether what he said is actually the case. There are many disparate reasons for this rise and the Minister of State's assertions, which were certainly given in good faith, may be true. If the Government detects any sign of profiteering — which is exploiting tax incentives and which seems to be coinciding with the incentives being provided to encourage people to purchase diesel-powered vehicles — on the part of retailers or wholesalers of diesel, will it take action?
