I was encouraged here yesterday to see the consensus across the House on the severity of the legal costs being imposed on the Ó Cuanacháin family from Wicklow who sought an entitlement for an appropriate education for their autistic son in the High Court. The proposal by Senator Ross to seek an immediate debate was a positive one, given that the Minister for Education and Science, Deputy Mary Hanafin, was coming to the House in the afternoon. However, I was disappointed when I saw how the Green Party voted on this issue.
