Last week I welcomed the opening by the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, Deputy Brian Lenihan of the new National Property Services Regulatory Authority's offices in Navan. I was glad to see that the Minister recognised that some consumers recently have had negative experiences. I am concerned about people throughout Ireland, in Louth and Meath especially, who live on estates run by unregulated property management companies. According to the National Consumer Agency, NCA, website some residents paid €700 in 2003 and €1,200 two years later purely because property management companies are unregulated. This is not an isolated incident. Will the Leader ask the Minister to come to the House to outline his proposals on how he intends to legislate for the regulation of property management companies?

Yesterday the constituency of the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government went up in smoke, today his pay rise is going up in smoke. Will he come to this House before his reputation goes up in smoke?
