Business of Seanad

10:30 am

Rory Kiely (Fianna Fail)

I have received notice from Senator Norris that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to make provision to support Drumnigh Montessori primary school, Donaghmede, Dublin 13.

I have also received notice from Senator White of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to clarify the rationale behind the omission of systemic lupus erythematosus and other forms of lupus from the long-term illness scheme, given that this illness shares the major characteristics of the other illnesses on the long-term illness scheme, namely, that it is both long-term and debilitating.

I have also received notice from Senator Coghlan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to encourage and support the joint efforts of the trustees of Muckross House and the National Parks and Wildlife Service in carrying out a comprehensive botanical survey of Innisfallen Island with a view to obtaining the fullest information on the ancient monastic settlement and the lives of the monks, particularly in regard to their cultivation of the island gardens thereon detailing the plants, shrubs and herbs with medicinal properties.
