I have taken detailed notes and I will deal with them on Committee Stage. I have dealt with the main points and there are some issues on which I need to seek clarification from my officials. I look forward to Committee Stage on Thursday. I acknowledge the support and advice my Department received from the society and the IPU. We received a great deal of assistance in framing this legislation. I am sure it will not solve all the problems identified but it will play an important role in putting in place a modern regulatory framework for pharmacists and pharmacies which will be appropriate to the times in which we live. The second Bill will deal with service definition and technical issues pertaining to premises, which are a minefield.

I thank the Seanad for allowing me the time to deal with this matter and for facilitating the completion of this House's debate on the Bill by Thursday evening.
