Roads Bill 2007 [Seanad]: Second Stage
3:00 pm
Martin Cullen (Waterford, Fianna Fail)
I thank Senators from both sides of the House for their contributions to this debate which, by and large, was rational and fair. I have no disagreement with the point made by Senator Quinn. We want to introduce a 24-hour operation on the M50 but ironically those stuck in traffic are the same people who objected through the planning process to stop us doing a 24-hour system. It was a condition of the planning process that we could not do that. The planning process imposed strict timeframes on what work we were allowed to do——
