Martin Mansergh (Fianna Fail)

I would welcome an opportunity to express the point of view from the Government side of the House. In the past this House has debated Turkey's accession to the European Union. I welcome the Pope's statements on the matter which make it clear that he does not oppose and, if anything, would welcome in principle Turkey becoming part of the European Union under the right conditions.
