UN Committee Report on Children in Ireland: Statements (Resumed)

3:00 pm

Kathleen O'Meara (Labour)

I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to this debate and welcome the Minister of State to the House. Before going further, I wish to acknowledge the work he is doing in this area. We cannot doubt his commitment as progress in the area of children's rights and affairs has been significantly advanced. As the Labour Party spokesperson on this area, I acknowledge his work in this significant area that covers matters ranging from the provision of child care to the area of children's justice.

The Minister of State has now been landed with the issue of the constitutional referendum.
