Business of Seanad.

2:30 pm

Rory Kiely (Fianna Fail)

I have received notice from Senator Norris that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to intervene to rectify an injustice done to a person (details supplied) who has been unfairly deprived of a grant.

I have also received notice from Senator O'Meara of the following matter:

The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Health and Children to take action in light of the waiting time of two and a half years for north Tipperary patients to get an appointment to be assessed by an orthopaedic consultant in Croom orthopaedic hospital, County Limerick.

I have also received notice from Senator Bradford of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to introduce the necessary ministerial order to remove the present restrictions on credit unions imposed by the operation of section 35 of the Credit Union Act 1997, which restricts the amount of money it can lend to members over five and ten-year periods.

I have also received notice from Senator Bannon of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement in regard to the underutilised potential of the Athlone to Mullingar rail link and to give an update on the status of this project under Transport 21.
