I have been involved previously in such matters and I know one gets very little thanks for it. The issues involved in making such decisions are most complex. It is important to show there was not political influence, as I believe was the case. This would be in the interests of the Health Service Executive and the hospital. A case has been made and criteria have been set down and it would clear up much confusion and help public confidence in the decision-making process if these were published.
