5:00 pm

Tom Parlon (Laois-Offaly, Progressive Democrats)

Transport 21 provides for the reopening of the western rail corridor in three phases, from Ennis to Athenry, Athenry to Tuam and Tuam to Claremorris. These projects are to be implemented in conjunction with rail commuter services from Athenry and Tuam serving a new station in Oranmore en route to Galway. Iarnród Éireann, along with the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs is developing a mechanism under the CLÁR programme for the preservation of the line from Claremorris to Killooney.
