Terry Leyden (Fianna Fail)

It would be appropriate for the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform to come to the House. I understand he is due to make a statement in regard to the riots in Dublin last Saturday. I commend the restraint shown by the leaders of the main political parties in their approach to this issue and in their approach to the Minister who has a very difficult task.

I also wish to place on record my respect for the courageous gardaí of all ranks who put their lives at risk to defend the capital and the public.
