I have notice from Senator Morrissey that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, in light of the appalling conditions experienced daily by commuters, to indicate when the Irish Rail plan, which includes the Spencer Dock station, inter-connector, and spur to Dunboyne, will be funded and commenced.

I have also received notice from Senator Terry of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social and Family Affairs to report on the possibility of widening the homemakers scheme to include homemakers who spent time out of the workforce on caring duties.

I have also received notice from Senator Bannon of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism to clarify the position on funding of genealogical projects by the Irish Genealogical Project, as funding of projects, other than its own, seems not to be within the remit of the IGP, precluding all other projects and effecting a situation which is adverse to the advancement of Irish genealogy as a whole.

I have also received notice from Senator Dooley of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to make available the necessary funding to allow Clare County Council to ensure uncontaminated water is available free of charge to the people of Ennis and surrounding areas.

I have also received notice from Senator Finucane of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs to restore the grant of 90% of the cost under the scheme of community support for older people as the reduction of the grant to €300 is causing an undue financial burden on old age pensioners; and if he would create an emergency fund to be made available for security alarms to be fitted when the urgent need arises.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Morrissey, Terry and Bannon and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Dooley and Finucane may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
