Home Help Service: Motion.
6:00 pm
Geraldine Feeney (Fianna Fail)
I am unaware of anybody who does not want elderly family members to be cared for at home. However, sometimes that is not possible. This Government is committed to having the elderly cared for in the community and at home. As Senator Minihan noted, people are living longer and are more independent than they were in the past. They want to stay at home and the onus is on us to provide them with that option. This Government has done more for older people than any other Government in the history of this State.
