National Consumer Agency: Motion.

I am sure she would not. Senator Coghlan is a personal friend of mine but the Fine Gael amendment to the motion is highly irresponsible. It does not deal with consumers' interests or the groceries order and, rather than engaging in a meaningful debate about what consumers need, it is an attempt to slap Fianna Fáil even though there is no opportunity to do so. Consumers' needs are the concern of the motion. I have heard about consumers' needs from the Independent and Labour Party benches but Fine Gael's amendment is not in this vein.
