I am pleased an inherent unfairness in our taxation system has been revealed. It has become the subject of general discussion in the House. Yesterday, I asked for a debate on the taxation system, specifically on the matters raised in Monday's "Prime Time" programme. The comments of my colleagues on this side of the House say it all. Why are some people facilitated by our laws — in particular those brought in by the Taoiseach when Minister for Finance — in not paying their fair share of tax and not making a contribution in this country, against the background of a promised review which has never taken place? We want to know why the review has not been undertaken or published.
