This weekend, a school in Dublin 15 was broken into by thugs. Significant damage was caused which resulted in the closure of the school yesterday. While ongoing anti-social behaviour in many areas is in itself a major problem, additional difficulties arose in this instance when gardaĆ took two hours to respond to a call made after the break-in was discovered. This was because Blanchardstown gardaĆ were taken away from their duties to provide security for international visitors at Farmleigh House. I understand that these duties must be performed but this should not be at the expense of providing security and responding to calls in Dublin 15.
