The findings of a survey among 220 general practitioners in Galway, Roscommon and Mayo are of serious concern. Of the general practitioners surveyed, 60% wish to retire before the age of 65, one in five wishes to retire before 60 and corresponding numbers of female general practitioners want to retire before the age of 55.
