Irish Nationality and Citizenship Bill 2004: Second Stage.

1:00 pm

Brendan Daly (Fianna Fail)

Her application to the consulate general in Manila was turned down on the basis that the affidavits for post-nuptial citizenship were not signed before her husband died. She has five children, four of whom live in Ireland and one in England, and all are Irish citizens but she cannot get Irish citizenship. If the Minister can deal with that issue I can conclude my contribution. I thank the Minister for the expeditious manner in which he is dealing with this detailed and complex legislation. I would appreciate if he could make some effort to expedite applications which are awaiting determination for many years.
