Michael Finucane (Fine Gael)

In the programme for Government a commitment was given that the Government would improve accident and emergency waiting times and that senior doctors would be available at all times. Yesterday, the Tánaiste apologised to the people who were on trolleys and said there was no quick-fix solution to the problem. As Senator McCarthy mentioned, on the Joe Duffy programme it was highlighted that beds were available that could be used as step-down facilities.

Everybody is saying that the Tánaiste is new to this Department but she has been in Cabinet for seven years.
