I would like to be associated with the Cathaoirleach's remarks and wish our distinguished visitors every success in their job in the North. I wish to make some points on the kidnapping of Margaret Hassan. To date, luckily, nobody has sunk to the level of beheading or murdering a female kidnap victim. In my view, the fact of her Irish citizenship should not be pushed but rather concealed. There is something rather silly about Irish politicians posturing as if they were in a position to negotiate anything. This country allowed itself to be included, willy-nilly, in the so-called partnership or coalition of the willing. Shannon Airport was used to transport 350,000 troops——
