Educational Facilities: Motion.
5:00 pm
Eamon Scanlon (Fianna Fail)
There is no doubt that St. Catherine's College was a fine college with excellent staff. Nobody can take that away and I congratulate the college on the work it has done over the past 90 years. However, the trustees and the Dominican Order announced that they were not in a position to retain the college in its current form for financial and other reasons. The former Minister for Education and Science had a decision to make. There is no Member who can deny that he or she does not lobby from time to time and I acknowledge that I lobbied to have the facility moved to St. Angela's College.
