Senator Mooney raised the issues of the marching season in the North, the desecration of the national flag and the Middle East, on which he expressed very proper sentiments.

Senator Ormonde passionately pointed out the age group of most of the fatalities on our roads. There is no doubt that the wearing of seat belts is a factor in that regard.

I wish to advise Senator John Phelan that the Driver Testing and Standards Authority Bill 2004 was published as a Dáil Bill last week and it will address the issues raised by him in regard to standards of driving, regulation of driving schools etc. When it is disposed of in the Dáil the Bill will come to the Seanad.
