Senator MacSharry referred to the same issue on the Sligo line. He is correct that more people would take the trains if there were decent carriages and a modicum of refreshment. Senator Glynn asked about what has happened with regard to the Mullingar to Athlone route. I do not know. I gave my imprimatur to it before I left the then Department of Public Enterprise.
