John Minihan (Progressive Democrats)

I join with Senator Finucane in highlighting today's reports on the export of domestic waste. The time has come for us to discuss waste management and I ask the Leader to arrange for such a debate. There are many myths surrounding this matter, so a debate in the House would be useful to outline clearly the overall policy on waste management.

I also join with Senator Norris in congratulating the Government on the anticipated changes to the Stability and Growth Pact. It is certainly music to my ears, given that this has been the impediment to progress on the school of music project in Cork.
