Senator Henry has summed up the issue well and it is important to include the suggested provision in the Bill. The points made by Senator Walsh are weak. The amendments will strengthen the Bill and ensure that our elected representatives will have an opportunity to be informed about what, if anything, the Taoiseach decides to do. That is democracy and it is the least we should expect of our Taoiseach.
