Business of Seanad.

10:30 am

Rory Kiely (Fianna Fail)

I have received notice from Senator John Paul Phelan that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Science to outline the position regarding the planned closure of St. Brigid's secondary school, Goresbridge, in light of the salvage plan recently presented by the St. Brigid's action group.

I have also received notice from Senator Ulick Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to indicate the added resources which will be provided to health boards directly or to service providers to enable them to continue to provide services without cutbacks to people with disabilities.

I have also received notice from Senator Ryan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to ensure that the Irish Wheelchair Association is provided with sufficient resources to guarantee the retention of its current number of community employment scheme staff.

I regard the matters raised by Senators John Paul Phelan and Ulick Burke as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. I regret that I have had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Ryan as the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter.
