Business of Seanad.

2:30 pm

Rory Kiely (Fianna Fail)

I have received notice from Senator Morrissey that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment and Local Government to verify the length of time it takes to issue a floor area certificate in order that first-time buyers can claim the first-time buyer's grant in view of the concerns raised by new home buyers in Ongar Park, Clonsilla, Dublin 15.

I have also received notice from Senator Higgins of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to make a statement on the industrial action at the Department of Agriculture and Food office at Michael Davitt House, Castlebar and other locations throughout the country which has led to devastating consequences for those involved in the livestock, retail and export trade; and the need for the Minister to initiate a meaningful dialogue with a view to having the matter resolved as a matter of extreme urgency.

I have also received notice from Senator Feighan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health and Children to explain the reason children with multiple handicaps are unable to avail of emergency and specialist dental care in their own county as is their right, especially in this year of the disabled.

I have also received notice from Senator Ulick Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture and Food to intervene personally in the current clerical dispute which is causing hardship to the personnel involved and to the farming community.
