Senator O'Meara graphically described how all the general practitioners and health board staff in her area have made representations to her about the provision of radiotherapy services in the Mid-Western Health Board's area. Likewise, Senator Finucane made an eloquent plea for radiotherapy services in Limerick, and Senator Kenneally made a very legitimate claim for Waterford. In all those contributions, I was struck by the dislike all country people have for travelling to Dublin. The expert group, however, is not proposing that anybody should travel to Dublin – it is examining where these services should be located outside Dublin.
