Government Policy and the Provision of Services for the Elderly: Statements.

 

Younger people should have a separate admission scheme. Geriatricians need to be appointed to each acute hospital and existing welfare homes and long-stay hospitals for the elderly need to be redesignated as community hospitals in order to allow them to service a population of over 30,000.
