Order of Business.
10:30 am
Mary O'Rourke (Fianna Fail)
Senator O'Toole said it was school yard stuff and that this Private Members' Bill should be supported. He went on to talk about the Dublin port tunnel. The reason higher trucks are reckoned to be more environmentally friendly is that because they carry more, there are fewer of them. He wanted an explanation. I have been informed that this matter has been raised at the Joint Committee on Transport. An investigation is taking place and those responsible will come back to the committee with their findings. It would, however, be useful for the Minister for Transport to come to the House to discuss this and other matters.
