Crime Levels: Statements.
A friend of mine was attacked in O'Connell Street three weeks ago. He came to my clinic and told me that he feels insecure, jumpy and tense. He wondered whether he could have done something different and if the attack had been his fault. He is one of the many thousands of people who have been attacked on our streets. He has been through the health system and is receiving treatment for depression and insomnia. This is a burden on the health system which could be avoided if resources had provided for 2,000 extra gardaĆ.
