The authority was able to identify a number of areas to be improved in the sector, which could result in facilitating the creation of new general practitioner practices and allowing them to respond to market demands. Using the research as a foundation, the authority has plans to issue individual reports on competition in each profession on a phased basis. If appropriate, the authority will seek changes to existing practices or offer regulatory guidelines to the Government.
