I recently visited the Dublin City Council traffic management centre, a multi-million pound state of the art facility that has improved traffic flow. Traffic problems would be ten times worse if they were not managed properly. The resources generated by the increases proposed in the Bill can be put towards specific training of staff and officials in local authorities to give them the expertise to manage the problems we are experiencing. These resources are crucial to improving safety on our roads.
