I warmly welcome this motion, which is balanced and adequately deals with the questions raised by this conflict. As a number of Members have said, all we can do at this stage is hope and pray this is a short conflict and that casualties, civilian and military, are kept to a minimum as many of the Iraqi soldiers are conscripts and have no choice in the matter.
